PRESIDENTS
MESSAGE
Another year own and another year upon us. We hope all of our members and
their families had a good Christmas and a safe new year's. Again big thanks
from all the officers and myself for the support that members have given to
the club in 2011 and hopefully in 2012. This year will be very interesting, of
what might take place in this country and the world around us. Well, another
attendance record has been broken for any function that the club has put
together. With a whopping 191 showing up at the party, this will be a hard one to
beat. Plenty of food was to be had with a little left over's this time to be
taken home. We had net donations from the party of $2247. Great job! A
little break down of the expenses for the party and your membership fees at work.
Total expenses for the party were $5729.41. The break down is $19.05 for
gifts and $10.94 per person that had attended. A total of $29.99 per person. Last year it
had averaged out to be $25.24 per attending. With an increase of $4.75 for each
one attending. Still this is not bad for all that was had and with all the
grand prizes too. At the officer's meeting an idea was brought, about having
a pre outing down at the Dewey Bridge in Moab. Sometime around March-April
window. The weather should be warm enough and might help with the winter
withdrawals of not playing in the dirt. We will talk about it at the January
meeting. Another new adventure! On January 27th at 8PM starts the new series
"Bering Sea Gold." Show is produced by the same folks of "Deadliest Catch" and
"Gold Rush Alaska" Ninety-nine percent of the show will be on dredging off the
coast of the Nome area with the small dredges, (6-10 inch). It will show on
Channel 182 Dish-Net and Channel 278 Direct TV. Another show on not what to do as
a gold miner LOL!!! The speaker that we have for the January meeting, is
Mr. Ron Hill. Related to the Rhoades Family. He will give more insights as to
the where about of some of the mine's that had long been forgotten about.
So bring your recorders, so the information will not be forgotten. For our
February meeting we will have our famed gadget night. And attached to that, we
will have our auction and sell night. A good time to get rid of the extra's
and or pickup an item that is needed. I think that about covers it for now
and hope all was covered for the January meeting. With the first good snow
hitting the ground January 7th, that's one more closer to spring. And for my
closing quote. "if you think you are strong enough to get yourself into a
situation, be sure to make sure you are twice as strong to pull yourself out
again." And with that said have a good one and see you at the meeting.
Again Thanks To All The Members Phil
